DOOR AND WINDOW SENSOR
These sensors are small, wireless devices that detect the opening and closing of doors, windows, cabinets or drawers. Each sensor is actually two pieces, joined wirelessly. When the door opens, it disrupts the wireless connection and the sensor triggers an alert to the Control Panel.
Setup
Use these sensors to protect anything in your house that opens and closes. We recommend one for each exterior door – typically one for the front and one for the back. You may also want to place sensors on first-floor windows. However, most FrontPoint customers save money by using Motion Sensors or Glass Break Sensors to cover rooms with multiple windows.
Setup is easy – just peel the adhesive backing off and stick a sensor on any door or window.
These sensors protect you against more than burglary. They're useful even if the system is disarmed. Pick the area in your home that you want to safeguard – perhaps a cabinet for firearms, jewelry or medicine. If anyone opens that door, you'll receive notification.*
As with all FrontPoint components, the key advantage is that they're wireless. Wireless is safe technology because it can't be disrupted or severed. Wireless also makes setup a breeze, because you have no wires to connect. In addition, our Door and Window Sensors are tiny, so they're extremely portable. Change their location any time you want, and take them with you when you move.
Manufactured by GE, these sensors come with a 2-year warranty and a stellar reputation.
*Be sure to sign up for our Interactive or Ultimate Monitoring Plan to take advantage of remote notification. It helps you stay aware of activity within your house, no matter where you are.
